Celia Bloor has found a review of the Audlem Archive by Ian Bailey in the North Staffordshire Historians Guild Newsletter.
"I was recently directed to a local history site relating to Audlem as an example of a good site by someone not entirely unconnected to the guild. And so it was: neatly organized, with a big range of interesting documents available.
"I especially liked the letter from the wife of Rev A Atkinson, 1924. This described the religious state of affairs when her husband took over the living in 1865: there is a lengthy list of difficulties he faced in that benighted place.
"I wonder if it has improved since then, or if things have continued downhill as they are apt to do. There are audio recordings, photographs, plans and newspaper articles old and new.
"I even found an 'interactive pin' on one of the photographs, which enabled me to put names to the faces, which I thought was pretty clever.
"A good channel for bringing local history to people's attention I thought."

Perhaps we might receive some comment about whether things have "continued downhill" since 1865!
