There was a good turnout for our 2024 annual general meeting.

Glenys Inight our President along with Ann Pye our Secretary welcomed us to the meeting and after a few general notices welcomed Ukes Aloud who started our meeting with 8 varied tunes from"oh when the saints go marching in" to "lord of the dance" and "island in the sun" all played on ukuleles as their name suggests and having provided us with songsheets, we were encouraged to sing along.

The formal part of the AGM then took place with Ros High taking on the role of teller for election of the new committee for the coming year. Glenys Inight agreed to stay on as President.

With all the business matters completed, we went on to enjoy cheese boards with tea provided by Mary Hignett.

Whilst eating and drinking we took part in "The big fat WI quiz of the year" which was based on questions from all our speakers through 2024. It was a good review of the year, providing time to reflect on the varied subjects we have covered. We had a WI anagrams round and how well do you know your committee round, where you had to match an activity to a committee member e.g. we learnt that Glenys had taken part in the Krypton Factor assault course !!! The winning team were indeed our President and Secretary who have obviously been concentrating hard over the last year.

We look forward to closing the year with our christmas party on the 29th November 12 for 12:30.

Our Luncheon club is planning to meet at The Bhurty at 12 for 12:30 on Friday 8th November.

Our walking group will be led by Sue Sullivan and meet at 10:30 on Wednesday 6th November in Croxton Lane, just before the canal bridge. They plan to eat at The Badger in Church Minshull after the walk. As always, new members and visitors are very welcome.
