Audlem Rambling Society (ARS) planned to support the Nantwich Lions charity fundraising walk on the 34 mile Sandstone Trail over three days 29 to 31st May to raise money for the Wingate Centre at Wrenbury.

Since lockdown, it is not practicable to walk as a group and arrange transport on a linear walk such as the Sandstone Trail.

So some ARS members are taking up the challenge to walk 34 miles locally in week commencing 30 May, to seek sponsorship if they wish, and to donate to the charity. Clearly they need to stick to government guidelines, walking as a household or with one other person, see here.

A number of those who planned to do the original walk are taking up the challenge and are hoping more will join them, metaphorically of course!

34 miles over a week is an average of 5 miles a day so not quite as difficult as it sounds, a good target and a feel good factor topped by donating to a worthy charity. Whether or not people accept the challenge to do the walking we hope they will consider making a donation at the just giving page, here..

Happy walking and donating!
