Steve Elliot, who is organising this month's ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk, writes: "A suggested circular walk is Wildboarclough/Macclesfield Forest. It's about 4 hours of walking and is a 7.5 – 9 mile moderate walk through open moorland, pasture, Ridgegate reservoir and forest plantation with the finale of Shuttingsloe (506m).
"The additional 1.5 miles (which could be optional) is to take in Tegg's Nose – which if the weather is kind will provide excellent views – as should Shuttingsloe. It starts at a pub – as well as having one conveniently placed at the halfway mark. Apparently it finishes at a pub as well!
"In view of the early nights, we should meet at 8.00am, on Audlem car park."
