This month's ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk on Saturday 12th July is a fairly easy 11 3/4 mile walk along the Wye Valley between Buxton and Bakewell.

We have done this walk a couple of years ago and it is very pleasant and pretty. The going is relatively easy although there is a little bit of climbing at one stage. Hopefully there will be a good display of wild flowers and wild life.

Last time we undertook it several people shortened the walk by a couple of miles by catching a bus from the pretty village of Ashford-in-the-Water and a glance on the internet shows a fairly regular bus service. Therefore if anyone wants to shorten the walk to make sure they are back in the village in time for the Tempest at Buerton, there should be plenty of opportunities.

The walk is over limestone at times so care is needed if conditions are damp.

The walk is of course linear but, in view of the bus service, I don't think that we need to park a car at the end.

Meet at 8.30am at Audlem car park.
