ARS reaches Shropshire heights

The March ARS (Audlem Rambling Society) walk on Saturday was led by Simon Probert.

It started from Poles Coppice Nature Reserve car park in Shropshire, situated on the minor road between Minsterley and Habberley.
 
A steady climb took the ARS walkers to the highest point of the walk above Snailbeach. From there was a descent to Vessons, before a gradual climb along the flanks of Huglith Hill.

It was then along The Marches Way for an easy stroll to Habberley. From there the group climbed to the trig point on Earls Hill, a steep climb but worth the effort for the views alone.  

The total distance walked was 10 miles and involved about 1800 feet ascent.

Our thanks to Frank Morris for the photo which shows ARS taking a well deserved break after climbing the 320 metre high Earls Hill. But who was the shy member to the left of the group – somewhat ARS about Face, we suspect!
