Next Saturday's long ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk is a circular walk from Llangollen and is organised by Howard Jones.

He describes it as follows: Saturday's walk is approximately 10/11 long miles beginning and ending in Llangollen and should be categorised as a 3+ boot.

The initial half mile is slightly undulating. There follows a long incline of over a mile which is not overly steep but certainly continuous.

Having reached the top there is a steady drop to the Froncysllte aqueduct (points will be awarded on the day for correct pronunciation); also those suffering for vertigo are advised not to look down – the rest of us can simply enjoy the view.

The second part of the walk from Trevor involves a steady climb taking us to the edge of Worlds End (please don't take that literally) and then up to Castell Dinas Bran and back to our starting point.

It's an 8.30am start from Audlem car park next Saturday, 10th September
