The next ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) walk is this coming Saturday, 12th February. We meet at the Audlem car park at 8.30am.

The walk is about 11 miles with approximately 2000ft of ascent -a 3/4 Booter.

From Church Stretton we follow footpaths to All Stretton, go through the village, cross the railway line and A49 before climbing to the lower slopes of Caer Caradoc. We then contour along until we reach the hamlet of Comley.

From there tracks and paths take us up to The Wilderness (not as bad as it sounds), past a disused quarry and down a gradual descent into the village of Cardington and the Royal Oak Pub.

From Cardington a series of footpaths take us over Hill End and after a short descent we climb steadily to the top of Willstone Hill – excellent views on a clear day. The route continues along the ridge with some short ups and downs to the Gaerstones.

A steep descent folllows to take us to Hazler with a downhill finish to Church Stretton.
