This coming Saturday, 8th May, ARS (Audlem Ramblers Society) has decided on a return to the Stiperstones in Shropshire but on a different route than followed a couple of years ago.

The walk starts at The Bog, a visitor centre where, appropriately, toilets are available. The walk is described as being in two contrasting sections – firstly green rolling hills typical of western Shropshire and then a complete change of character in the final stages as the walkers tackle the actual Stiperstones.

The walk is 9 miles in length and involves 1405 feet of climbing and Andy Davidson rates it as 2 boot bordering on 3 boot on the scale of difficulty.

Navigation looks straightforward but as there will probably be ground nesting birds on the Stiperstones, dogs must be kept under control.

As there's a good bit of driving to get there it's an 8.30am meet at Audlem car park.
