As part of my chairman's report for the AGM of the History Society recently, I checked the figures for the Archive which started in 2013.
We have now uploaded most of the photographs in our collection but people are always producing new ones. We need to go through our collection of 'documents' next, although some of these may not be suitable for reading on screen.
Also we have not put many items from this century up yet and could make a start with 2000 to 2009 which are waiting.
I was amused to think of satisfying 29 queries a day climbing the stairs in the Scout and Guide Hall and rummaging in the filing cabinet drawers!
I showed it off on the ipad at the Alsager Border history fair last month and found we have 4 items on beehives!
Don't forget that you only see the most recently added on the first screen to come up you need to use the search facilities on the Left Hand side where topics such as 'events' are listed in alphabetical order so that you can select 'weddings' or whatever. It is very quick to use and is interesting to see what we have under any particular year or what the earliest reference is, you just have to play.
