All the plans for the Audlem Festival of Transport on Sunday are coming together and ASET, the Audlem Special Events Team, are hoping to see around 300 vehicles and thousands of people in the village. Admission is free.

A helicopter will be landing on the playing field at 9.45am – ASET ask that those watching the landing keep on the car park for safety reasons. At noon all the vehicles will assemble at Hankelow and the parade begins at 12.30pm and drives through Audlem to arrive at the playing field at 1.00pm. The vehicles, and the entry list shows how successful and popular the Festival has become, are then parked and displayed on the field until 4.30pm.

A real treat is planned for the afternoon with a flying display by an RAF Spitfire of the 'Battle of Britain' memorial team over the Festival and village, scheduled for 2.35pm. So let's hope that, just for once, the weather is kind. Those who read the report on the Festival in this week's Chronicle will be amazed by the picture of last year's event. The playing field looks like a desert – burnt dry by the blazing sun and drought!

Refreshments are available from Thistle Caterers, Snugbury's Ice Cream, Caffeine Rush and John Majors' Hog Roast as well as village businesses. There will also be a children's funfair and charity stalls.

Tomorrow, Audlem Online will cover the new Norman Proudlove Trophy, which will be presented to the best vehicle in the show.
