A local resident has raised an important issue about security in their home for older people. She writes: "In spite of repeated warnings to old people not to let strangers into their
homes, my mother, who lives in the village, let in two people, one male, one female and they installed a second (as we have one already) smoke alarm.
Now they may well be genuine fire service personnel but I am not to know."
"Why couldn't they drop a note through the door announcing that they will be
calling the next day so that arrangements could be made for someone to be there with her. It really is most irresponsible. They left an Audlem
telephone number on the instructions for the alarm but I have tried it twice
with no success. I have reported it to the police and have to get back to
them if I am not satisfied that they were genuine."
Can anyone provide any information that could minds at rest on this fire alarm installation?
