The important issue of whether Audlem should be made an Alcohol Exclusion Zone is the current Audlem Online vote. If a zone is introduced, this will give the police the power to confiscate alcohol out of doors that they suspect will lead to trouble. Opponents believe the police already have powers to deal with issues like this and, anyway, why select Audlem.
Do vote on this issue. Crewe & Nantwich Borough Council appear, according to this week's Chronicle, to be in favour of these zones in many parts of the Borough. It's important that the Council know what local feelings are about such an important issue, particularly as Audlem is the only area with a Vote Poll facility.
So far, according to the votes, there are clearly two sides to the argument. If you wish to vote, select Yes/No or Unsure and click Vote Now. You can check on the votes cast by clicking on 'View Results'. There is also a 'Forum' discussion on this including explanations from PC Ken Maple on what the powers will be if the 'Zone' is introduced.
