Alarm cold call

Just had a phone call from a firm called Response Direct offering free installation of monitored alarms systems.

They asked if I would be prepared for a no obligation 30 minute demo tomorrow morning! I declined and said I would be happy to receive literature about the service but didn't want a visit. They hung up!

Perhaps they are ringing round the village looking for opportunities to apply some 'one to one' sales pressure or am I getting paranoid – just concerned that this may alarm potentially vulnerable residents.
