Back to a game as we play at home .
As I sit here in the early hours of a wintry day, with a beautiful big frosty moon image high over the house, I reflect on the World Cup, being played over in Doha. Given the choice of playing here on chilling turf or there under a warm sun, I know where I would rather be in football shorts!
Busy times with Santa appearances in the village and the Marina , plus visits to local schools has meant for some taxing pulls on a very painful back -- the result of time and past accidents like falling off ladders.
Christmas gift shopping all done and wrapped so a good move.
Had occasion to drive north to Ormskirk to see friend and sister in law .
Blessed that we had motorways . As I drive at constant speed and no hold ups. Given the many many vehicles there travelling along with me , prompted me to reflect just what the side roads would have been if no motorway exited .
Very low hanging dazzling sun a hazard !
After my diatribe of the past few days , the frost has hit all pitches under the control of Cheshire East -- and all matches postponed .
So another weekend with no game .
Next Sunday is panned to be away to Wistaston FC with top referee bossing the match.
We shall see -- and hope . But the big day is very close then and we may be beset with parties and gift and food shopping.
