For many years volunteers have run a weekly day club for elderly members who are wanting a social day out due to isolation or loneliness. This takes place at Thornton House, Emberton Place on Tuesdays from 10.30am to 3.30pm, including lunch and an afternoon of chat, quizzes and other entertainment.

The Day Club used to be run under the auspices of Age Concern Cheshire and more recently Age UK. In October 2010 at a public meeting in the village, it was agreed to set up Audlem & District Community Action (ADCA) as a local charitable trust to take over running of the Day Club from April 2011.

ADCA (Audlem and District Community Action) is holding an Open Day, with the following objectives
- to allow visitors to see what the Day Club is all about
- to recruit potential volunteers
- to recruit potential new members
- to do a bit of fund-raising

The Open Day will be on Tuesday, March 29th at Thornton House from 1.30pm to 4pm. Cakes and tea will be available, and there will be a raffle.

Please see the ADCA page on the website (follow the link underneath the photo) for more information about volunteers and members.
