Tree-dressers and Marshalls

Small Tree Dressing

Yes, it's still November and some say I shouldn't mention Christmas until December ... however, time and Santa wait for no one.

It is time to dress the small trees, some 66 approx. (can't find the boss's spreadsheet). If you have never taken part in this joyous (hohoho) activity, all you need is a pair of snips, Hi-Viz (we can supply those) and some warm clothes (we don't supply those).

Christmas hats optional – the chap in the picture was straightening his hat, not despairing of me.

This will take place at 0930 to noon – 1330 to 1600, each day on:

Tue 23 Nov

Wed 24 Nov

Thu 25 Nov

Subject to how many volunteers turn out, we may finish by end of Wednesday. We understand you may not be able to commit to a half-day or full-day, but any time you spare for this work is always much appreciated.

We will be dressing in the Lord Combermere car park tent. Thanks once again to Allan and Jo for allowing us this bright space.

Big Switch On Marshalls – 26 November

We need to dress Santa's grotto under the guidance of Sam Burdon, but we need some help here.

Grotto dressing will start at 1000hrs on 26 November and takes about an hour to ninety minutes. Please let me know if you can help.

We will also be setting up the Butter Market on the same day. At round 1730hrs we will need to meet at the Butter Market to set out the safety barriers (thanks to PET Tool Hire for supplying these for free) and for instructions to be given to road Marshalls. At around 1900hrs we can start removing safety barriers and taking down lights and PA equipment.

Then the village will be looking even prettier than usual, if that's at all possible.

As ever, any help is much appreciated.
