Audlem's version of the Oscars took place at the Public Hall last night as part of the ADAS AGM.
Awards were presented to a series of surprised and (mostly) modest recipients in various categories.
Having moved to Audlem in the 1980s, he was instrumental in organising the 700th Anniversary celebrations for the village and then moved on to set up the multi-award AudlemOnline website for the village which is the equivalent of a daily village newspaper and is widely used by all ages in the village.
He continues to be an influential and generous member of the village.
He recently qualified as a citizen of Audlem by last year marrying Helen, born and bred in Hankelow and Audlem, after keeping her waiting for 25 years.

Our young Citizen of the Year is a young lady who gives her time to other youngsters in the village. She has been a young leader helper for Beavers and Cubs and has attended numerous camps for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers.
She took part in a collaborative climbing event and helped the Scouts climb the equivalent of Mount Everest. She has also been doing some canal boat training so that she and another leader are able to take others on boat trips.
She has played a part in the village panto for the past 6 years and last year played one of the main roles.
The young lady is a fabulous example to the young of the village helping others and being enthusiastic about everything she does.
The container garden and floral displays round the Priest House Café present a colourful and interesting aspect to their corner of Audlem Square.
.
The garden hidden away behind Stafford Street has surprised and delighted many friends and open garden visitors.
