For sale tomorrow there should be:

  • Banty and Standard eggs.
  • Honey
  • 'Scrumptious' eating apples, other varieties and cookers
  • beet root,
  • hopefully some runner and French beans,
  • tomatoes,
  • Courgettes and marrows
  • Damsons
  • Dahlias and the odd sweet pea

The time for turning unwanted apples into juice (or cider!) is upon us, there will be two sessions in the village centre on a Saturday morning soon, October 15th and 22nd,
Bring your apples, containers for juice and if you want some of the apple waste for your compost heap or to feed the pigs, a bucket or two.

We have found that you get more juice if the apples are quartered (cores and bruises OK, grubs better removed,) frozen and then brought out a good 24 hrs before pressing. If you do not want your apples please tell us on the Saturday stall and we can arrange to come and pick them-including fallers.

These would then be used for our free mulled juice at Christmas. if you have a lot of apples we could bring the kit to you, it was bought for the community.
