Saturday, October 12th

Held in the car park of the Lord Combermere Saturday morning between 10.00 and 12.00. Nearly the end of the season for the food group market, it has been a successful year lots of produce, a great facility for Audlem. All locally grown, fresh, no air miles, even our bags are biodegradable, what more do you want?

This week weather permitting,

  • Onions,
  • Runner beans,
  • Beetroot,
  • Tomatoes (possibly).
  • Red Falstaff apples (these will keep till Christmas)
  • Flowers, Dahlias.
  • Eggs large and small.
  • Lemon Drizzle cake
  • Bara Brith.
  • Jam including Damson.
  • Plus what ever turns up hidden in the garden.

Come early and get the pick of the crop!

Apple Pressing

The dates are still being decided but before the end of the month the ADAPT Food Group will be holding their annual Apple Pressing. Start collecting apples and freezing them, this brings out the juice, remember to defrost before bringing them. Either frozen or fresh apples, and with everyone's help we will chop, scrunch and press. Don't forget to have plenty of bottles to put your juice in. Lovely!

P. S. The very tall plants adorning the stall last week were Jerusalem Artichokes.
