ADAPT Saturday Market is on this Saturday 18th April Lord Combermere Car park.
There is still plenty of time to sow your own seedlings this Spring. Many will catch up quickly once they have germinated. There great satisfaction in nurturing your own plants to maturity and reaping the benefits in eye-catching floral displays or your own fruit and vegetables. Give it a go, and great for the kids to get involved. Its zero miles and your fruit and veg almost always taste better than those of unknown origin, some of those have maybe chemically sprayed many times before they reach your table.
We always grow a few extra seedlings as spares if the pests or late frosts cause a problem. We have a few heritage tomato plants for sale this week with more in the coming weeks as they harden off. See picture.
Also on the Market will be Carrot cake, Fruit Cake Jams and Preserves. Free Range Eggs, border plants and some soft fruit bushes. Honey and Apple Juice might be available towards the last hour of the market.
Lets hope the rain stays away.
