Our summer gardens continue to bear fruit ( and vegetables). This week we have plenty of
The plums are an early gage from an old tree in the orchard, a variety called Reine Claude Violette which originated in France in 1780 a good cropper most years. We managed to pick them before the wasps found them but only just in time.
Last week we had more requests for the Lemon Marmalade so our cooks have been busy and a new batch has been made, a recipe is available.
We may have some new potatoes, cakes, and other freshly made preserves. Also after nearly running out of honey last week the bees have kindly given up some of their harvest and a brand new batch is now safely preserved in the jars.
We are recycling at our stall, and this week there is a request for any old empty Fall Ball Plastic Tubs that villagers have squirreled away.
See you under the Buttermarket come rain or shine Saturday mornings 10am till the clock strikes noon.
