The season of mellow fruitfulness

The ADAPT Food Group will be at the Lord Combermere Car Park between 10 am and 12 Midday again this Saturday, 21st September.

I have a whisper there will be some Lemon Drizzle Cake, French Beans, Runner Beans, Marrows and Courgettes. I picked a few damsons this morning and they are at their best eaten raw, really sweet, watch out for the stones.

If the cooks have been busy, there maybe some damson jam, which sets magically with all that pectin in the fruit.

A selection of other newly made preserves will be available.

We have freshly dug new potatoes and a few punnets of Autumn Raspberries,

We still have the hen that produces the torpedo shaped eggs, and to complement them there will be our speciality:- the quail eggs. Raw local Honey is back on sale, as are organic tomatoes, and a selection of herbs.

Those fragrant sweet peas are still in bloom, but not so many now.

Helping to reduce Audlems Carbon Footprint and waste, we are happy to recycle jam jars, plant pots, egg boxes, crisp packets and toothpaste brushes and tubes.

See You Saturday.
