The ADAPT Food Group

will be at the Lord Combermere Car Park between 10 am and 12 midday again this Saturday (September 14th) as Autumn gathers its pace.

Around and about the damsons are just ripening and wild hedgerow blackberries are there for the taking. Early apples are ready and so are the first pears. If they fall off the tree in your hand or with a slight twist they are ready. They are easily bruised so careful handling will prolong their keeping.

In addition this week we will have

  • quails eggs,
  • home made cakes,
  • Runner beans,
  • Beetroot, various sizes and colours of onions,
  • Shallots,
  • Italian type courgettes,
  • novel type red salad onions,
  • raspberries,
  • cultured Blackberries,
  • Sweet peas and Zinnia cut flowers,
  • Free range eggs

Preserves

This week we have a comprehensive selection of home made jam and preserves, no additives, just fruit, sugar and sometimes water. Last week the tayberry preserve was the most sought after, followed by raspberry and crabapple.

Hope to see you at the market, come rain or shine.
