Closure scheduled April 1st to April 12th

Following letters from Andy Hannah of the Audlem Tourist and Traders Group and pressure from the Parish Council,, Cheshire East have clarified the times of closure of the A529 Audlem to Nantwich road while the roadworks at Little Heath are carried out. Their notice at the site of the works, and their website both imply that the road would be completely closed during this period.

The letter to Andy from Cheshire East states that although the road will be fully closed from 9.30am to 3pm each weekday, it will be open in early mornings, late afternoons, evenings and all weekend.

The letter from Cheshire East says

Subject: RE: A529 Closure- 1st to 12th April 2019
Good afternoon Andy
Unfortunately due to the type and extent of the roadworks being carried out, the work can not be done safely at night or under temporary signal control. In order to mitigate nuisance, the work has been scheduled to take place during the school holidays. Each day the contractor will close the road to start work at 09:30 and reopen the road at 15:00. At this time there are no plans to work weekends. I hope this Helps
