Ed: In this time of so much gloom as we all fight this pandemic we received this email from a local resident who used modern technology (Zoom, FaceTime and What's App) to bring together friends and family from across the world on this Special Easter Sunday
Thanks to modern technology we had a wonderful experience on Easter Sunday.
It all started at 8.30am when we were able to do a What's App chat with 2 daughters and their family watching the grandchildren having an Easter Egg hunt in their gardens. We quickly then got showered and had breakfast and zoomed into the Easter Sunday service organised by St .James Church conducted by Rev.Helen Chantry and Rev. Gary Windon.
The service finished at 11.15 am so then we organised ourselves for the next encounter which was Sunday Lunch !.
Our Daughters had organised a take away Lunch for us from the Lord Combermere for 1pm.They were also each cooking their Sunday lunch for 1pm.
At 12.45 pm we all zoomed in and our lunch arrived on time and theirs was ready too. We are together and chatted and then it was 4pm.I must say our take away lunch was delicious!
A short break and at 5.30 pm our daughter and family in America greeted us on FaceTime and we had a long chat together with one of our UK daughters online at the same time.
We were then too full to eat another meal although some chocolate had been eaten in between calls!
Unexpectedly at 7pm my husband's nephew phoned to ask if we could do a zoom meeting with him, his brother and sister, his mother and husband and her other brother and wife. That was great fun and we all had a great time. and all of a sudden it was 10.45 pm.and the day was over.
We are so lucky to have such a loving and caring family.A truly lovely day in my 3rd week of a 12 week shut in.
Thanks to modern technology family and friends were brought together from America, South of England, Northumberland. Manchester Staffordshire,Cheshire And North Wales
