A tribute to Andrew

Audlem Cricket Club are saddened to announce the passing of former chairman Andrew Capper following a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Andrew was a huge part of Audlem cricket club for over 20 years. Andrew was more than just a member of the club. He was the heartbeat of the club, undertaking various roles over his time associated with the club. Andrew was admired by all who met him.

An excellent role model to the younger players. He worked selflessly for many years to ensure that cricket has been played continuously at Gorse Croft. It is not an exaggeration to say, without Andrew, there wouldn't have been an Audlem Cricket Club.

Chairman, treasurer, captain, groundsman, secretary, cricketer, team-mate. Best-mate. Andrew, we are so lucky to have been able to call you all these things. We just wish we could have done it for longer.

You will be sorely missed by everybody.
