A moment in time on a Pub bench.

As I sat alone in the car park of the Lord C yesterday, just before my last two drives to deliver meals -- close to 800 deliveries now over the past 8 weeks or so, I mused on the life around me . The sun was still so warm on my face and nearby a group of rooks were noisily claiming their perch for the coming night.

The church clock struck its chimes to announce the hour of six. The sky was blue and the new flags were streaming in the breeze. So peaceful and so gentle a time. My mind flying away with memories of times gone by.

And a few lines of a poem came into my head – seemed the right time to have such thoughts and in essence the right place, albeit on a rough worn pub bench.

I thought of Browning and his poem "Oh to be in England , now that April's there", and thought just how his words are true, even though now today we see so few swallows here, and no more cries of seagulls following the plough as it turns the fresh earth .

Nevertheless, given these so strange times in which we live, we all daily count our blessings that we have Audlem -- and all its surrounds in which to live.

So true and at that moment so much a comfort to me in my silent reverie I send you a photo I had taken earlier of a moment of time.
