The winners of the final draw of this year's 20 Week draw, which raises funds for the Public Hall, were announced from the stage at the Proms on the Park on Saturday night. The top prize of £250 was won by Trixie Bonell. Many congratulations.
Both the £150 and £100 winners will be surprised by their success as neither even knew tickets had been bought on their behalf. Jonty Smith, who lives in Australia, and is a regular follower of Audlem Online, will be delighted to know he has won £150. His brother Andrew, who runs Audlem Post Office, with its superb foreign currency service, would like to know if Jonty wants paying in Australian dollars or UK pounds. (Jonty, another message on Audlem Online's Guestbook will suffice!) We will, however, leave the question of whether Jonty pays Andrew for his winning ticket to the two brothers' private negotations.
Eddy Heath, who lives near Bristol, was another surprised winner as his £100 winning ticket had also been bought for him by an Audlem-based relative. When told of his success, which was his second in the 20 weeks of draws this year, Eddy exclaimed "Tractor, Tractor, Tractor." He is, after all, only 18 months old and this is the only word he knows – so far!
The £50 winning ticket was held by Dennis Murray. Cheques will be sent to the winners. The Public Hall committee has raised very valuable funds and thanks everyone who bought a ticket and the committee members and others who sold tickets across, it appears, the entire globe.
