2010 Parish Plan making progress

The 2010 Parish Plan is making excellent progress with all the working groups hard at work drafting their contributions. They will submit their recommendations to the Steering Committee at the end of July and a draft report will be produced over the summer.

There will then be a period of public consultation in September before a final report is published towards the end of the year.

The following working groups, normally with 6-8 volunteers, have been at work over recent months:

• Environment and Ecology
• Community Projects – (Community Involvement including Sport & Leisure)
• Local Businesses including Tourism
• Health
• Planning, Housing & Built Environment
• Youth & Education
• Community Care & Access (Social Inclusion)
• Traffic & Transport (includes canal, footpaths, parking)
• Communications

Each group has also assessed progress since the 2005 Plan; is discussing new ideas that should be included in the 2010 Plan; is ensuring that these ideas are in line with residents' views; and is drawing up a detailed Action Plan to implement the ideas.
