2010 Audlem Parish Plan being drafted

Preparation of the 2010 Parish Plan is making good progress with all the working groups now drafting their contributions. They will submit their recommendations to the Steering Committee in the next week and a draft report will be produced during August.

There will then be a period of public consultation of that draft in September before a final report is published towards the end of the year.

The following working groups, normally with 6-8 volunteers, have been at work over recent months:

• Environment and Ecology
• Community Projects – (Community Involvement including Sport & Leisure)
• Local Businesses including Tourism
• Health
• Planning, Housing & Built Environment
• Youth & Education
• Community Care & Access (Social Inclusion)
• Traffic & Transport (includes canal, footpaths, parking)
• Communications

Some ideas are getting underway already such as the formation of the Audlem Wildlife & Ecology Group which has its next meeting at the Lord Combermere on 7th September. More on this group in a few days time.

Each group has also assessed progress since the 2005 Plan; is finalising new ideas that should be included in the 2010 Plan; is ensuring that these ideas are in line with residents' views; and is drawing up a detailed Action Plan to implement the ideas.
