Bob,
Following on from Rachel Bailey's post, if you you type one.network into the address bar at the top of the screen on a web browser you can view upcoming road works and closures for a selected area via the filter in the top left of the screen.
You can also set up email alerts for roadworks and road closures for a specific area or road. I have one set up for the A529. This however requires the user to set up a user account, which is straightforward and only takes a few minutes. Just click on Sign In in the top right hand corner and there's then a link on the displayed screen to set up a new user account.
Suggest you contact Audlem Ramblers I would think they will be most helpful . A shot in the dark could be the old Audlem to Drayton railway line . Best of luck Lyn
Looking to renew the driveway at the front of the house.
Has anybody used Houseproud SCM for this work? If so, any views about them and their work?
Walk to Market Drayton . Joan and I used to drive in two cars to Drayton. Park one near canal exit
Drive back. Walk to Drayton along the canal, which must have lovely blossom now. And then have lunch there and drive back. A very genteel and happy day

Can anyone reccomend a circular walk from Audlem to Market Drayton, using the canal for one direction. Don't really want to walk back the same way and the road has very few footpaths. Thanks in advance x
Calling all local community groups
My name is Clare and I am the new Coop Member Pioneer for Audlem. My role is to help the coop support local groups in the area.
Applications for the Audlem Coop Local Community Fund are due to open on the 10th May -31st May. If you're a group based in the Audlem area who might benefit from some extra funding from the coop, now's the time to start thinking about submitting an application. The link coop.co.uk/causes will open on May 10th. Good luck everyone
I have a 7'x5' will be flat pack shed I need moving from Audlem to burleydam. Hopefully Saturday 15th if anyone can help. 07597118350, thanks in advance
Hello, Does anyone know why Longhill Lane, Hankelow will be closed from 27th April to 12th May? The closure will be in the stretch just along side of The White Lion. Thanks.
Thanks everyone for your support, we have now resolved our situation. what a wonderful community.
Hi Andy, we have a wheelchair you can borrow for both days, co tact us if still required
Thomas P Bennion was on the 1871 census as living in Market Drayton ..... Green Bank is a road in Adderley just across the county border in Shropshire. Obviously Adderley was included as Market Drayton in the census records
1881 census has him as a retired farmer living in Audlem... the original census details will narrow the search down...hope this helps....
Hi Everyone. My name is Clare and I am the new member pioneer for Audlem coop. My role is to help the coop support local community groups with funding and publicising any events they are involved with. As part of this I want to invite any local community groups in the Audlem area, including our current 3 causes, Audlem Saints Football Club, Friends of Audlem school and Audlem and District Community Action Group, to start thinking about applying to be a coop Local Community Fund group for 2023/2024. Applications open at the beginning of May so follow the link coop.co.uk/causes for more info. Good luck
Further to a question about this gentleman, I looked into the registers we hold here and date from 1874. Thomas Platt Bennion is recorded , in beautiful copper plate writing, as having been buried here in 1888 in grave number
293, to the left of the first path in the oldest area of the grounds
I hope this helps the enquiry.
Try here : https://www.redcross.org.uk/get-help/hire-a-wheelchair
We have been renting a wheelchair to get to & fro Leighton Hospital. It's now unavailable so any pointers to the source of a wheelchair loan/hire for Wednesday 12th & Tuesday 18th would be most appreciated. Based at Overwater Marina. Thanks in advance.
Hello Audlem
re Thomas Platt Bennion 1815-1885, Gentleman Farmer of Audlem
The above named person died 10 August 1885 at "Green Bank" Audlem. Any idea where this is, or was?
Hi there
Found an iPhone on the benches next to the co-op I've left it with the ladies behind the tills, it has a phone case on it and the screen saver was of a black mountain bike. Hopefully it'll be reunited with its owner soon.
Rachele 😊
One of our group dropped his glasses on the path between Coxbank and Audlem around lunchtime today. If you find them please call Peter on 07403573573. Many thanks!
We had some takeaway pizza last night from Piccola's in the village I can put into words just how good and reasonably priced they were. Absolutely recommend people try best pizza we have had in a long long time
A Big THANK YOU from ADCA to Audlem Saints for donating surplus Easter eggs from their Saturday Easter training session to our Thursday Club
It proves Easter eggs are enjoyed by young and old
Also many thanks to the CO-OP for providing all the eggs at a discounted price
HAPPY EASTER to all
ADCA/ASFC/CO-OP
Please be aware coole lane is NOT closed over the Easter weekend!
How sad to have the lord combermere empty but also to hear linden stores is closing. We must support these local businesses otherwise we could face losing the heart of the village. I do worry for the future of Audlems traders. We're so lucky to have a range of beautiful shops such as Williams's and Brambles to name a few
Greg Ashton's observations are quite logical, and this is the kind of argument that causd me some concern from the beginning. However, though I don't literally wear belt and braces, in view of the recent history in the affairs of the parish council and how things can go awry before anyone is aware and before it can be corrected "throughthe ballot box", I would still tend to vote for the FIT proposal despite logical arguments to the contrary.
12.30 06/06. Coole Lane closed Overwater Marina just after Hollins Lane. No access to Marina from the south.
