Can anyone tell me who Jonathan Smith is and his address please? He has given my Mother's address concerning his DVLA application. I have contacted the agency to alert them.
I know I've asked this a while ago but, here I am asking again. ;-)
These 'ere Music events (apart from Party In The Park) do you have to ask to play or do you have to wait to be asked to play?

Bob, the Church of England has an online condolence book
https://www.churchofengland.org/remembering-her-majesty-queen/her-majesty-queen-book-condolence
In the church Bob.
There is a book of condolence for the Queen at St James Church. The church is open daily.
Good morning everybody. Does anybody know where the nearest Book of Condolence is for for our beloved late Queen ? Thank you ,
The larger Superdrug shops are supposed to be taking empty pill blister packs for recycling. I have been told Chester or Hanley but possibly Shrewsbury as well. Does anyone go near one regularly and could take them there for us? Not heavy! Thanks.
Hi Ian,
The email address is audlemrg@outlook.com. If you could send me an email with any questions then I'll come straight back to you.
Thanks
Chris
Has anyone details of Audlem Running Group Who is the organiser and contact details
For those that are bemoaning a lack of a tribute from AudlemOnline I have an idea some of our more prolific raconteurs will regale us of tales of their meetings with Her Majesty the Queen at corporate events and garden parties.
Another proud moment today for the Collis – Smith family and Audlem, in that Paul Collis – Smith led the band in playing the National Anthem at Westminster Hall.
On my regular journey down 'memory lane' (or, as I like to call it.....er....um....I can't remember at the moment) I come across places or people I can remember but can't, if you see what I mean? You probably don't so, here's what I mean; Mr's Eaton's Shop/Cheshire St/A529. I called the lady who owned it, Mr's Eaton. Well, you would, wouldn't you...it was the 60's. (1960's, not 1860's you cheeky scamp's) Anyway; I can't for the life of me remember the lady's first name; nor can any of my 'memory lane' friends either. Can you help please? By the way, in my defence; I can't remember it because I never used it. ;-)
I'm pretty sure the cortège that Ralph was waiting for was that of Cedric Bonnell . what a good man from a good family who provided provided employment for numerous people in Audlem and beyond R I P Cedric
I was raised in Audlem and left in 1974 to join the Royal Navy, returning from time to time to visit my parents. On 3 September I me visited Audlem with my wife for my mother's (Ann Knapper) 90th birthday. We stayed in a wonderful flat near the butchers, although after all these years the church bells caught me out. Note to self – close the window before going to sleep if sleeping near the church. On the Saturday morning my wife went into the square to do some shopping. The Butter Cross had a number of stalls so she bought apples, tomatoes, eggs, bread and honey. I cannot remember the last time I tasted apples or tomatoes that were so good. The eggs tasted like eggs and there are no words for the honey. My wife visited every shop and bought something. I had already done my duty by purchasing a kebab the night before and that evening we had a drink in the bridge. I think that is a full house.
The weekend in Audlem was so wonderful and although I am fortunate enough to live in sunny Plymouth, you are all very lucky to be able to live in such a beautiful place.
Somehow it all came together in Audlem on 3 September, my mother was able to celebrate her birthday in the sunshine, and me and my wife had a short break in such a welcoming place. Everyone we met was just so nice and welcoming.
If Carling made did villages they would all be Audlem.
I believe that anyone could have written a eulogy of thanks and it would probably have been published. It is not a question of common decency but restraint and adhering to policy. I
Wasn't Theresa May's tribute in the House great! They did a good job.
God Save the King.
Looking for someone to do some taxi-ing every Monday & alternative Fridays, during term time, from Nantwich at 5pm to Audlem. Other occasional lifts if convenient.
Suzanne – the flag is raised whilst the Accession ceremonies happen and then lowered again tomorrow in memory of Queen Elizabeth
I found a debit card on footpath by Linden Stores. It belongs to Clive Morrison. I've handed into Williams Newsagent
Suzanne, the flag was lowered as much as possible on the Thursday. If the flag is lowered any further, it would snag against the church stonework.
The editors are absolutely right. Good call.
Why was the flag on the church not flying at half mast when passed by this morning at 9.15am – surely there is someone willing to go up and lower it. ( apologies if it had now been lowered).
I think Ann you have missed my point, I do not think that Audlem online can add anything new to what has been said about the Queen, however they could have the common decency to pay tribute to her and give thanks for her service.
Like many I was saddened by the death of Queen Elizabeth II. She has been a constant for most of my life and certainly for any under 70's.
The glue that has, to date, held the Commonwealth together, along with the work of countless unnamed officials.
It does puzzle me though that people demand to know why Audlem Online has not put up an official announcement. Given the rightful blanket coverage of her life and death in the media, researched and prepared over the years, it is hard to see just what a local online site could have added . I will find the muffled bells moving , and think the response from the church swift and hopefully comforting for those who attend.
