I used the Watch Doctor on Nantwich Road Crewe, they were quite expensive, but they seem to know what they're doing
Further to my email re planning proposal and asking if someone from East Cheshire planning department could attend.
I have received a lovely email from the Clark clarifying the situation. YOur Parish Council has arranged this meeting for us to facilitate communication with developers and members of the public, for which we all thank them. As no formal planning application has been submitted they would need to review a full application along with supporting documentation, which I now understand.
I'm sure the villages understand the importance of this meeting as it will affect the whole village. Whichever view you hold about the new proposed development your views are important. I hope you can attend support our Parish Council on Thursday at 6pm/18.00hrs in the meeting room at the Methodist church.
Hello, Does anyone know of a local Horologist, or Clock repair/service person please?
Thank you, Bob
Does anyone know why all the Minutes from Audlem Parish Council are available to view on the APC site apart from the last one (10th April 2025) please?
Thank you.
Along with other posts I think it is very necessary for someone to be at the public meeting from Cheshire East Planning .
On the Muller website +also the literature they sent out ,along with the new homes they state a County Park- the Government definition of a Country Park is-not less than 10 hectares made up of natural or semi natural landscape for example heathland, woodland, wetland or parkland. Educational resources, possible cafe , toilets not more than 2 minutes walk away, staffed. Mullers Country Park – 3.3 hectares !!!!!! The whole site is only just over 9 hectares
" sensitive approach to the edges of the site, protecting the amenity of adjacent dwellings "- virtually all the adjacent existing dwellings are bungalows so they are going to be overlooked by the second floor windows of the new houses-how is that a sensitive approach!
Public open space +tree planting- the slope down to the canal+the said Country Park!
Providing green corridors- what green corridors when most of the site is covered in tarmac+fenced properties- the whole site is a death trap to most creatures!
For someone from the planning department not to come is totally disrespectful to the villagers of Audlem.
I sent last week an email to our Parish Clark to see if they could ask if we cold have a representative from East Cheshire council, planning committee attend our meeting on the 24th. At present I have not had a reply.
I agree that we need some representation, from them as well as the medical practice and school, if not in person with their views
An absolutely brilliant video and informative commentary! Not only a glorious clanging triumph, but you've also spared future generations the awkward task of trying to describe the sound of Audlem's bells with interpretive dance. A huge thank you from all of us in Audlem for capturing this sonorous slice of history!
I totally agree with you Karen, if Muller know the village so well, they would never of built the Coop where it is, without considering off road parking for the passing trade. However that would not of been as financially viable possibly.
Perhaps a representative from the doctors surgery and school should be invited to the meeting to establish what their stance is on the matter, are they at capacity and are they going to put in an objection to the planning.
At present their appears to be a good few weeks wait 4+ for a general appointment, surely a 260+ influx of residents are going to exasperate this further!
I've just watched the film of the story of the restoration of the Bells by Cy Percival and found it fascinating.
A big thank you to all involved in the whole project and to those who take their time to ring the bells for different occasions and to practice on a Thursday evening.
Great job.
Is the planning officer going to be present at the village meeting next week? If Muller know the village as well as they claim to do, I'd be interested to know what they and the PO say about the traffic predicament, the GP and schooling numbers as well as the environmental survey.
Try Griggs of Nantwich. They have a website.
We are looking for a local person/ company to fit a new bathroom at our home I. Audlem, must be good with plumbing etc ,
Many thanks for any recommendations...
Despite never having played or watched a match I find the reports capture the sequence of events and atmosphere brilliantly. Good to read how well the youngsters do! Thanks John
I have just discovered a deceased mottled grey and white cat curled up in my front border, I am not sure how long it has been there, but if you wish to claim it, please get in touch with me, 07710524978
Can anyone tell me the route of the Tractor Run on Sunday, please. My Greatgrandson will be very interested to know.
Had a fabulous meal there on Thursday night – excellent food and really friendly staff.
It's great that they're open during the week. Apparently they're open weekdays for coffee – and Lek is a coffee guru – even roasts his own beans so we're definitely going to check that out!!
This Sunday (13th April)

Could anyone recommend a dog groomer for two nervous, elderly dogs? I'm open to suggestions of mobile or local groomers. Many thanks
Regarding my earlier post a 'Torrid Time In Tollgate' there are a couple of points to consider. Utility work is required from time to timer to deliver the services we all need and although it's major work and going on for 3 or 4 weeks we can all work around the disruption. Having site traffic and contractors' vans parking in Tollgate for, potentially, a few years whilst Muller build houses is a different matter.
The other point to consider is the workmen involved. Talking to a few of my neighbours the feeling is that they have been very considerate and can't do enough to try and ease the disruption, a credit to Opus Utilities. A message I intend to send to their Head Office in Manchester, credit where it's due.
Ref: Geoffs comment about the EIA not being needed: How can Cheshire East have decided this already? We were told they gave the Parish Council an 1 month extension until 6th April to submit their feedback? Is the PC now going to challenge this? It sounds like a done deal ??? This seems shocking and looks suspicious especially given the plan timescale on the Muller website?
In association with ADCA, Sound Mind Body Wellbeing CIC are pleased to offer Moving Connections – Self Care sessions for Carers.
This will be a space for Carers to pause and refresh. To shift from doing to being.
People who provide care to loved ones often experience a decreased sense of wellbeing due to the demands of their role and a lack of opportunites for self care. This can result in feelings of stress, anxiety or low mood, and perhaps feeling overwhelmed or isolated.
Moving Connections sessions provide an opportunity for self care. Through creative reflection, movement, breathwork and somatic awareness participants are guided to find ways to regulate the nervous system, process emotions and unstick patterns held in the mind and body.
In these sessions, the focus is on the indivual, not their caring role.
Moving Connections is led by a skilled Movement Psychotherapist with decades of experience in this work.
The introductory session is on 28th April, 1.00pm at Audlem Public Hall. Regular sessions are planned. To find out more email therapies@soundmindbodywellbeing.uk or visit the website www.soundmindbodywellbeing.uk.
Anyone else notice that Cheshire East have decided an EIA is not required for this plan?
As per Sandra's comments we have used South Cheshire Glass a number of times recently to replace glass panes, a very reasonable price and always a prompt and efficient service.
Please take advantage of these free classes! We had to travel to Nantwich previously. There is no catch, they are organised with East Cheshire. Can recommend trying.
I have used South Cheshire Glass several times for a variety of glass jobs and they have always provided excellent service at a reasonable price. Tel No 01270 213366.
