Elizabeth Hollinshead on Vehicle electrics

18th January 2024 @ 7:26am

Before Christmas I asked if anyone could help putting a radio in my van. I have since met a really nice chap called Rhys from Buerton. He fixed my radio, was extremely helpful and pleasant and very reasonably priced. If you need any vehicle electrics sorting I would thoroughly recommend him. Thanks Rhys

Karen Bradshaw on Returning equipment

16th January 2024 @ 9:30am

Hi Lesley,
I also read the return of equipment suggestion by CE yesterday. As a retired DN, in the early days we would be able to have it returned following a phone call to the relevant company. Latterly, as you say, with prescriptions, once the equipment had entered the home, it became their ownership and the council (or hospital) 'couldn't ' have it back. Most of it ended up at christ church crewe, or other charities which, although it was used, probably wasn't the right height etc. It seemed a waste to us and now they're obviously realising, with their potential bankruptcy that it wasn't the best option. We shall be hearing about the opening of cottage hospitals next!

Billy Gibbons on The new puzzle

16th January 2024 @ 12:39am

Following on from Colin's post; I was at an Airport recently and there was a sign saying; 'Dogs Must Be Carried On The Escalator'. After finally finding someone with a dog, paying them to let me borrow it, and eventually getting it to the escalator, it wouldn't let me pick him up let alone carry him on the Escalator! Who comes up with these rules? The worlds gone mad!

Geoff Smethurst on Photography group

There are 2 photography groups in the Crewe and Nantwich U3A for retired and semi-retired people. One is called PHG and the other is DPI( which I lead). These can be seen at Candnu3a.org.uk. If you would like further information you can contact me on 0781 354 1972 .
Other than that there are camera clubs at Nantwich, Crewe and Whitchurch. If you Google them you can find their websites.

Colin Cliffe on The new puzzle

15th January 2024 @ 10:10am

I was a little frustrated today when I couldn't attempt the new puzzle, as it clearly says 'select all the images with a monkey' . I think that's a ridiculous entry requirement, I haven't even got a dog.

Patricia Storey on Squirrel eradication !

15th January 2024 @ 9:36am

Just wanted to thank Sue Gillies for the recommendation for a person to come and rid me of my Squirrel ! He is due tomorrow so hopefully I won't have put up with my Jack Russell barking afterwards and the birds can have their daily feeds in peace. Thanks to Audlem on Line for this very useful service. Lesley Davies on Returning equipment

15th January 2024 @ 8:50am

I read with some irony that Cheshire East are launching a scheme for return of equipment . I am a retired Occupational Therapist and we had a very good loan scheme . However Cheshire East decided in their wisdom that paying for storage , transportation and cleaning was not cost effective . So they issued prescriptions believing that would encourage people to upgrade and get better items . We'll they didn't , but some of the items were very inferior to what we used to have available . As for returning , there was no way to do it . I spent fruitless hours trying to get Social Services to retrieve a hospital bed and hoist that had been for the deceased owner . No luck . In the end the new owners got the scrap man to take it . Good eh? So I rolled my eyes in disbelief when I read this article , you can understand why .,

Patricia Storey on Squirrel eradication !

14th January 2024 @ 9:59am

Can anyone recommend someone who can come and rid me of a pesky Squirrel which is driving my Jack Russel (and me) nuts. He/she has decimated my bird feeder. I have checked the Audlem on Line directory of services but can't find a Pest Control section.
Any help would be most appreciated. Patricia Storey – cellphone 07515 399 447. Thanks.
