Chris Hughes on Borrowing an iPhone 14 / 15

9th July 2024 @ 11:11am

I need to borrow an iPhone 14 or 15 for a few hours, to test an app used by bell ringers that works perfectly on all iPhones except 14 and 15! If you would lend me your phone, I'd give £100 to a charity of your choice. I won't use the phone to make or receive calls, etc – just to test this one app. If you might be willing to lend me yours, I'll give you more details.

Darren Thompson on Damage to whips Turnpike

9th July 2024 @ 7:16am

Such a sad situation with all the threats to wildlife in this country it's probably at its worse since the Industrial Revolution I don't think people realise how dire the situation is and anything that communities try and do to help improve the dire situation gets thwarted by selfish people could regular patrols by some kind of warden maybe ? Or decent tree guards just on another note has anyone seen any bumble bees in their garden as I've yet to see one I've planted all sorts of bee friendly plants and as yet no bees this is very worrying

All power & thanks to ASET – what an tremendous group of volunteers !! As recent 'incomers' to the village we never cease to be impressed with the energy in this relatively small community. Saturday was truly amazing & well organised with so many people – despite the weather – having a great time, enjoying company – old & new friends & family – in safety.
Well done ASET, here's to another 25 yrs .
Best wishes from Bob (the Old Fella) & his Silver Swan

Lynn Turner on Cormorant

25th June 2024 @ 1:51pm

I was puzzled by the white head patches on the cormorant too so I investigated.
According to the RSPB
"Adult Cormorants develop these white 'filoplumes' on the head prior to breeding – they disappear gradually as the breeding season progresses."
The photo accompanying this statement looked very like the Audlem bird posted on Monday.
