David Farmer on Traffic

21st December 2020 @ 2:03pm

Hi

Yes this old topic again.
When visiting relatives in Kingbur place on arrival I was pleased to see the junction clear..... that despite a build up of traffic

My luck clearly ran out as I left.

On approaching the main road the way was clear. At the last moment a lady (V70 volvo estate I think) chose to park on the double yellows directly in front of my line of view.

It was approx 1.40 pm 21 December 2020.

This lady cut across my line of view , fully knowing her vehicle was obscuring my line of view. It was thus a dangerous manoever; both for my self and the van waiting behind me to get out.

Please folks, driving incorporates road craft which is "reading the road".

(I did ask the lady to move but she refused).

Please lady, you know who you are, no one wants a confrontation . You just have to observe the highway code in your driving.

David Farmer

Jackie Thompson on Local shops

20th December 2020 @ 12:26pm

There's no need to add to your stress levels by venturing into busy shopping centres for last minute gifts and stocking fillers. Our village shops are well stocked with attractive and unusual gifts. I ventured down to Audlem Mill Canal shop this morning for stocking fillers for my Grandchildren, and they have an amazing range of items. So I hope you all keep well, stay safe, shop local, Merry Christmas

Firstly I would like to say well done with the new look, it looks great.
Love Steph's article on lady reindeer and Xmas wishes, really made me laugh which is definitely needed with the current situation we find ourselves in after the latest announcement from the government yesterday, I also noticed the latest article today from Cheshire East about information on Xmas but I think it needs to be updated ASAP as this is likely to course a lot of confusion as we now only have 1 day 25th to get together with family not the 5 days as it was when the article was wrote yesterday morning.
I'm not trying to upset anyone as you all do a fantastic job with the website, it's just such an important subject that needs clarity ASAP as the government are making near impossible for people to keep up with we're we all stand.

Rotary Calendar
The Rotary Club of Crewe and Nantwich Weaver organised a photographic competition "Living in Lockdown" inviting the public to submit photographs. We had an excellent response of more than 60 which were judged by Nicola Cooper a professional photographer. We have now produced a calendar with the cost covered by sponsorship, which we are giving 500 free to local charities to support those charities.
We have given Audlem Charity Shop 20 with a suggested selling price of £5. Good value and a good cause.
Rotary is always looking for new members. If you would like more information about Rotary contact either;

Dear Editor
Just to let you know I have been in touch with Cheshire East Highways Department to ensure they are aware of the impact of the Village with road closures for works on the A530, A529 and now Coole Lane.

I am assured that the emergency works at the junction of Coole Lane will be completed by lunchtime, so hopefully it will be open before Friday afternoon traffic joins the queues.

Santas route and timetable was published twice before old Website came down. So I say well done the team for good timing and a good Website.

Is the A51 still closed between Woore and Bridgemere too?

Nigel Mottershead on Traffic

17th December 2020 @ 3:51pm

Hi,
I think it could be because there are roadworks between Market Drayton and Loggerheads on the A53 leading to long tailbacks and the traffic is probably finding a way round it though Audlem. It was the same yesterday too.
Nigel.

Cheryl Cooper on Traffic

The Whitchurch to Nantwich road is closed at Goldsmith and the diversion is down the A525 through Audlem. It was closed yesterday as well. I quite agree the traffic is atrocious.

Christine Johnson on Traffic

Can anyone report why the traffic in the village is so bad. There are huge lorries stuck in the middle of the village and traffic is queued past the Market Drayton turning. This has been going on for at least two days.

Hi. I love the new website. Well down guys.

However, I feel your timing to do the website was a mistake. It was a Saturday afternoon, the weekend that Santa Claus was arriving in the village. Myself and others wanted to find out the timetable. But, as the website was down, that was impossible.

Unfortunately there was not many people out and I feel the situation of the website being down when it was, it to contribute to this.
