I had a similar experience to Margaret when I challenged a couple of lads in the Co-op some weeks ago which resulted in one of them shouting in my face "I don't care". I did write to the Co-op Head Office and I just received a standard reply that they would talk to the store but I never heard anything else. Perhaps stronger noticing would help enforce the rules although these individuals obviously thought they were above them.

I also read the Times article, most of the recent publicity has centered on the demise of gas boilers, but I would think oil is equally polluting. I am aware that NWF are starting to market a recycled bio oil but don't know the cost or how clean it is. As a village I do think we need to investigate all options for the future.

Like Margaret Roberts, I too feel strongly about the total ignorance and selfishness of people – young and older too, who flout the rules that we currently have to follow.
It is partly down to these individuals, that we are in this situation now and also thanks to them that it looks as though the rules for shopping in supermarkets including the Co-Op is about to get even tougher.
I believe that staff should be permitted to correctly and politely challenge those that don't protect themselves and others, and, I tip my hat to Margaret for doing this with the two young characters recently.
There are still many people amongst us all that just don't get the seriousness of this or, who are just plain stupid.

Interesting points raised and whilst I would contest it is not the job of shop workers to enforce the rules and also that the rule breaking is definitely not confined to the young...I think both of those discussions would be doing a disservice to the collective effort.

Focus on the minority of examples of "non compliance" exaggerates their prevalence and encourages more people to think "well, lots of people are breaking the rules, so....". In this way, we promote the exact behaviours that we are seeking to stop!

Far more productive in my view would be to focus on the many good behaviours and congratulate ourselves for being, on the whole, collectively responsible and considerate.

For about a week now, when I walk past the teasels in Turnpike Field, early in the morning, I have seen at least a dozen goldfinches feeding on them. I keep trying to take a photo but they are very shy.

I was perhaps premature in my comment and In view of something I missed before & recent comments here accept that our team here are part of a much larger effort to counteract this awful pestilence thats on us all. I took my father yesterday for the Covid vaccination + like others have already said the whole process worked very well. Numerous people were helping from aiding parking, directing where to go and checking details. Nantwich Civic Hall is an ideal location. Thanks must go to all the medics & admin staff who have enabled this to happen.

Mother-in-Law had the vaccine yesterday at Nantwich – she has had no side effects and the whole process was very efficient.

I had a telephone appointment ,which after discussion meant I had to attend the Centre,. which was offered by mid afternoon. Had the surgery had to vaccinate with the Pfizer vaccine they would have had to process 900+ people in 24-48 hours before the vaccine lost its potency,meaning doses having to be wasted. To me it makes sense to use the civic hall at Nantwich to maximise throughput and vaccine. Once the Oxford/Zenica arrives it is a different story as it can be stored at+5 to +8 C.unlike the Pfizer which has to be stored at -70C in batches of approx 900 doses and takes far longer to reconstitute for use. We should be grateful for the efforts being made to vaccinate as many as possible of us oldies to free up resources for the younger generation

Pleased to report that I had my first vaccine in Nantwich yesterday, along with a number of other people from Audlem. No ill effects apart from a sore arm.
Civic Hall very busy but plenty of helpers and well organised when I went.

People from Audlem are being vaccinated.I can name at least 5 people who went to the Civic centre yesterday.

We were in Nantwich yesterday and observed a steady flow of people through the Civic Hall. Part of the car park is free and reserved for those with vaccination apps. Other spaces limited to M & S and by library bits so if able to walk to shops I would use another car park. I believe at least one Audlem resident was vaccinated yesterday.

Having been at the back of any surname-based queue all my life, I have decided that the time has come, with a queue of potentially several million for the jab, to change my name to Aaron Aardvark.

In defence of Audlem Surgery I think Mr. Dickinson should have read AOL before making his post, as I recall the Medical Practice published a story about this at the end of last year.

Surely the logistics of giving the vaccination to so many people requires large centres to efficiently maximise resources. How many clinicians are there in Audlem who can give the vaccine without there being a significant detrimental effect on other health services?

Let's hope this all progresses as quickly and efficiently as possible, despite us seeming to have the most incompetent Goverment (especially over this issue) in my long lifetime.

It's like this Robert Nantwich is a designated hub for a few Medical Practices, Therefore we have to attend the Civic Hall in Nantwich at our allotted time slot I suggest we all give thanks and praise to Audlem Medical Practice for their combined efforts , skill and dedication to our health and well being during these difficult times This must have been one difficult logistic excersise to say the least , If we clap for heroes this evening thin of our Surgery Staff

I have not heard of anyone in the village getting either vaccine yet. I have checked with a friend who is over 80 and thus before us in the queue and they have heard nothing yet.
Please don't keep us in the dark, it is a difficult task I daresay but it would be good to be informed of progress, or even lack of it.

How lovely to be walking back home when I passed two groups of children from Audlem school and everyone of them said thank you when I stepped aside to give us space. Well done parents and teachers. It was very uplifting..

Oh dear. Have the puzzles finished again now? I was so happy when they returned but it seems we have had the same sudoku for 3 or 4 days now. I can do it really quickly!
