Reference the unusual building the Ramblers spotted while walking across Lipley Farm, near Bishop's Wood, Cheswardine, it belongs to The Pendlebury family of Lipley Farm. For many years it was a ruin but then the owners decided to restore it and let out as a holiday home. Googling holiday lets in the Cheswardine, Market Drayton area might give you the answer.

I wish to endorse the well-deserved tributes paid to Gavin. He has done a wonderful job in keeping the village in good order and has been a significant contributor to the many Britian in Bloom trophies won by Audlem. He always has a kind word to say to passers-by and has taken great pride in his role. A trusty guardian of his realm. You will be a very hard act to follow, Gavin, but enjoy your well-deserved freedom.

In particular my husband and I will have to stop losing things.....twice we have been saved by Gavin keeping things safe until claimed!!! Thanks again.

I would like to thank Gavin for all the hard work that he has done for the last two decades. He is always cheery and gets on with his work for the Parish Council in an unassuming way. A lot of people may take the cleanliness of the village for granted, but without Gavin's efforts things would be a lot different. Enjoy your retirement, Gavin.

Good morning. I was interested to read that Gavin Davies has decided to retire from his valuable and vital work in the village. I for one would like to say a big thank you to Gavin for the work he has done for the village over the last 20 years or so, in keeping the village spic and span. If you see Gavin in the house of his labours he always has a smile and a wave and a few words if he has time. I am sure that there are many other residents and visitors to Audlem that would join me in saying a big thank you and the very best of luck and health for the future. Gavin will be a hard act to follow.

Does anyone know where I can get a bulk delivery of compost locally around Audlem? I want about 3 to 5 ton.

Indy has now been found safe and well although a lot lighter than when he went walkabout March 28th, I would like to thank Chris and Helen from Copthorne who very kindly captured him into there house with a "tuna" treat late Friday evening 8th April.

....or.......you could employ me to come round to your house and sing! Those mice that wouldn't have run away immediately on hearing the first few notes would most probably throw themselves quite willingly on the traps. It's a win/win....apart from having to hear me sing that is. ;-)

Good old fashioned mousetrap with American Hardgums!

Cut a small piece off and eat the rest yourself. As much as the mice love the gum, unfortunately for them the traps come down and finished them off before they have chance to nibble a bit. They never learn. One piece of gum usually does at least 5 before you have to change it!

Make sure you set the trap at right angles to where they would run; along the edge of the room for example.

Any help finding wild garlic locally would be very much appreciated. Thank you

We found, peanut butter was the best on traps. Good luck.

Humane traps work well, plastic tubes that a door flips down when they go inside for a nibble. It traps them inside and then you can let them go without harm. I found peanut butter worked very well when they were in the loft at my previous home.

The best and kindest way to deal with mice is to use the electronic devices that you just plug in wherever the mice have moved in. I've found they work extremely well and no need to kill the poor little things.

These are the best mouse traps I have ever used. Bait them with pieces of chocolate!

Judy at Williams has i hope a range of spring traps. poison bait and probably the traps that you can take away from your house and release elsewhere. Please not in Broadways as I have a problem too and will get a trap just as soon as we are no longer testing positive.
I had this problem in Stafford Street and found bits of bacon or chocolate in the old fashioned sprung traps worked well, the only downside is handling the little sad carcasses. Better than wondering where the dead mouse is when using warfarin etc.
As for the humane traps I did get one to work but the squirming so unnerved me when I was taking it to the field that I dropped it so assume it escaped.

Disappointed that the wonderful sessions in Nantwich Civic hall seem to have stopped. We tried 119 but the combination of poor English and mentioning mobility problems meant we were offered Alsager which option then seemed to disappear and only Sandbach remained. We gave up and booked Whitchurch through the website but then the letter from CWP arrived only offering Alsager or drop ins in Nantwich. Presumably Whitchurch not offered because over some border or other. There is also a drop In bus visiting Keele University but it did not give future dates. I was left unimpressed.

Any recommendations for help getting rid of the happy mice who have moved into our house??? Thanks Tim
