Hi if anyone is looking for part time care work in audlem and can drive please give me a call
On this number 07854244455
Colin, I suggest you send an email to CheshireEastCustomerServices@cheshireeast.gov.uk. We had an issue where the black and silver bins were not collected for more than 6 weeks. If you call to report a missed collection the call goes to a call centre who log it but cannot resolve the issue. Complaining to Customer Services will get a response, although it could take up to 5 days, and it will get resolved. Our bins were emptied on a Saturday morning following the mail to CECS. Normal collection day is Monday. Good luck.
i enjoyed Chis Dyson's well thought out and scientifically based reply to Howard regarding climate change. However I have always unserstood that Flat Earthers were those who denied new scientific thinking, prefering to keep to the old beliefs.
We are all entitled to our beliefs. I hope yours do not lead to you being in that handcart heading for hell. I wish you good luck.
Well, as suspected absolutely nothing happened re the missed collection promised by lunchtime today, so having just spoken to another very friendly chap at C.E. he has assured me that the bins will be emptied today by 6pm (and he said it without laughing so it must be true). But then it got me thinking, has anyone ever seen the council refuse collectors working anywhere near 6pm, ON A FRIDAY?
Funny that Colin because my neighbours reported it online on the day of the failed collection as did I the next day. I also rang last Friday and was told we had to wait 5 working days for them to come – which should have been Tuesday at the latest. Fat chance. Still at least we're not charged for it like Cheshire West, but I suspect that won't be too long coming.
Howard, I think you are on the wrong community website?
Try Shanghai Online or Mumbai Online.
From where I an sitting the climate looks fine to me. In fact the sooner it heats up the better because £1.00 a litre for heating oil is getting a little ridiculous. Still, thats what happens when you pay people to stay at home.
In the March 2022 edition of Northwest Business Insider, Sam Ashworth (The Project Director for Hurstwood Holdings, the parent company of Tabley Homes (Audlem) Ltd) wrote the following about their proposed development in Audlem;
"We have been very encouraged by the reaction to our proposals by both the local councils and communities"
CE certainly should not have commented as the adjudicator on the planning application. I will be asking APC if they have commented, there comments should have been negative rather than encouraging, given that the proposal breaches the Audlem Neighbourhood Plan. I was not aware of any discussion that Tabley Homes held with the "communities" in Audlem – Was anyone else consulted? This seems like PR cattle manure to me. Hurstwood holdings is an established group that pushes through this sort of development nationwide.
PLEASE go to the CE planning portal (Application No: 22/1302N), read the comments some have made already and register yours

The world is going to hell in a handcart, as they say, and today the World Meteorological Operation announced that the climate crisis broke records in 2021 and average temperatures are already settling at 1.1C above pre-industrial levels (if they get to 1.5C, we have had it!). However, all is not lost, yet. Research carried out at Leeds University, checked by the engineering firm Arun and the C40 group of world cities suggest that if we all (me and you) sign up to six "shifts" in our lifestyles "individuals and communities can make a huge difference". They suggest:-
1. Eat a largely plant-based diet, withe healthy portions and no waste.
2. Buy no more than three new items of clothing a year.
3. Keep electrical products for at least seven years.
4. Take no more than one short-haul flight every three years and one long-haul flight every eight years.
5. Get rid of personal motor vehicles if you can – and if not keep hold of your existing vehicle for longer.
6. Make one life shift to nudge the system, such as moving to a "green" energy supplier, insulating your home or changing your pension supplier.
The study assessed the impact of consumption by people in the world's leading cities and found these six steps could cut global emissions by between 25% and 27%. "Live for joy, not for stuff" they say.
Having waited for quite a while, I have finally managed to speak to someone at Cheshire East about the failure to empty the brown bins from the 9th May on Kettle Lane and Paddock Lane, they were not aware of the widescale problem but had noted my individual online notification of a missed collection 8 days ago. The very nice chap stated that the situation should be rectified by lunchtime on Friday so let's wait and see what happens tomorrow, I know what I think will happen.......................................
Hi there,
Yes I can make cushions for you if you wish to get in touch.
Kind Regards
Liz
Mine was emptied as usual from Green Lane
Chris
Hello Colin. I can appreciate your frustration as on Woodhouse Lane, we are quite often missed when it come to garden waste. Like yourself, we were missed on Monday 9th May (second time this year!) and I reported it on the CE website the same day and again yesterday to "escalate" the complaint as no-one has been. I have absolutely zero faith in the reporting facility on the website and so on Tuesday evening, I emailed the CEO of Cheshire East (Lorraine O'Donnell on: lorraine.odonnell@cheshireeast.gov.uk) but I'm not holding my breath for a response, let alone any immediate action!
A few years ago, I used to receive help from one of the re-cycling Managers, Chris Pennell (07973 786834) but lately he does not appear to be taking my calls. I have texted him a couple of times since 9th May but no reply.
If I do not receive satisfactory reply shortly from someone in authority, I am considering raising the matter with the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman as I am close to reaching the end of my patience. It is particularly annoying for me as I produce a considerable amount of garden waste AND pay an extra £50 p.a. for a second bin. I'm now filling black plastic bags which will further accumulate over the next few days as I can't imagine the bins will be being emptied before the next scheduled collection day on Monday 23rd May.
Hopefully, you and maybe a few others will support me and at least email Lorraine O'Donnell.
Does anyone have an old dustbin lid they wish to get rid of? My 'new' patio "chimenia" made from an old washing machine drum needs a rain cover! Any old lid, rubber or metal would be gratefully accepted. Thank you.
Hi Colin,
It was our black bin this week and the brown garden waste and grey recycling last week and all were collected with no problems!
Hope you are doing OK.
Nigel.
RING CHRIS KNIBBS AT HATHERTON HONEY 811533. HE'S OUR LOCAL BEE EXPERT.
I'm struggling with the concept of any problems with bees – of any sort. Hopefully Adrain can offer some advice.
Does anyone know what's happening with last Monday's Brown bin collection? I have tried messaging the wonderful C.E. Council but just receive a standard automated response that is useless.
I would suggest that you put a search for local bee keepers and I'm sure someone would be pleased to remove them for you.
With have a problem with tree bees that have started to nest in one of our bird boxes.
They seem quite aggressive otherwise we would leave them alone.
Does anyone know of someone who could solve our Bee problem?
It appears the light has been removed and the junction box taped up further up the pole with insulation tape.
It remains to be seen if it's reinstalled.
Just to bring everyone's attention to it. Tabley Homes (Audlem) Ltd have a planning proposal with Cheshire East for 24 new homes in a field opposite the "Anwyl" development. This proposal contravenes the Audlem Neighbourhood Plan (ANP) in many ways. The ANP was, approved by Cheshire East.
For more information enter "Tabley Homes" in the search box of Audlem Online or follow the CE link to find planning applications where you can leave comments and read the ones I have already left regarding this proposal in the context of the ANP. I strongly believe Audlem residents should support developments that help the village to thrive, but only if they fall within the agreed ANP which was developed in consultation with residents, agreed by Audlem Parish Council and ratified by CE. This proposal does not pass that test and there is not likely to be an Audlem Parish Council meeting before the deadline for comments, so there is a very real risk that the voice of Audlem residents will not be heard in this matter
MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD COMMENT ON THE CE PLANNING WEBSITE AND FORWARD YOUR COMMENTS TO A PARISH COUNCILLOR.
