Volunteers needed

Local Charity, Christian Concern, based in Crewe, recently did a door to door leaflet drop which included the households of Audlem, Buerton and Hankelow, asking for donations of furniture, bedding and children's items.

These important items are given out on referral via agencies such as Citizens Advice Bureau, Social Services, Wulvern Housing, YMCA and Women's Aid to people and families who are really in need, not just to people in Crewe but to Audlem, Nantwich, Sandbach and Alsager.

Last year, we collected 8890 items from 2861 homes and we gave away 3339 items of furniture, baby equipment, bedding and utensils not only helping hundreds of people but preventing 170 tonnes of quality household goods from ending up in landfill too.

As a result of this campaign, we desperately need fit volunteers to assist with the collection of these items. If you can spare a few hours a week as a volunteer we would love to hear from you.
