Jayne Eaton'S Mum

My name is Jayne Eaton and I live in Burleydam. I work as a receptionist at Audlem Doctors Surgery.

Sadly, I lost my mum in May 2025. During the last few weeks of her life, she was cared for by St Luke s Hospice. The care they gave Mum was wonderful, and they were also incredibly supportive to us as a family during what was a very difficult time. We will always be so grateful for everything they did for her and for us.

My daughter and my niece wanted to do something in memory of their grandma and also give something back to St Luke s, so they have signed up to trek across the Sahara Desert in October 2027.

They ll be spending several days trekking through the desert, dealing with the heat, sand and no doubt plenty of blisters along the way! It will be a huge challenge for them, but they are determined to do it and raise as much money as possible for a charity that now means so much to our family.

They have set themselves a fundraising target of £3,600 with all the money raised going to St Luke"s Hospice to help them continue providing specialist care and support to local people and their families.

I 'm incredibly proud of them both for taking this on, and I know my mum would have been very proud too. We would be so grateful for any support people are able to give, whether that is making a donation or simply helping us spread the word.
