Ruby class worked with Cheshire East Fire Service on Monday afternoon learning all about Fire Safety. This included learning about the most common causes of fires and what to do in the event of a fire. The afternoon finished with the children looking at and trying on some of the protective clothing that Fire Fighters wear.
We had an Open Morning last Tuesday which was an opportunity to share all of the wonderful things that happen in our school with new visitors. A special mention must go to our Year 6 guides who showed our visitors around school and answered any questions they had. They all did a wonderful job.
Our Green Team shared an assembly with the whole school alongside Lucinda Hodges on Thursday – the children helped to host the assembly lead by Lucinda, from ANSA. She encouraged the children to think about how we recycle at home, and what we can recycle.
The Green Team in their roles as Junior Recycling Officers will be launching whole school competitions and taking part in workshops related to recycling throughout the year with the help and support of Lucinda.
Stand up to Cancer – please note there was a typing error on the letter recently sent out. Just to confirm the non- uniform day is Friday 21st October.

Sporting News
Well done to all of the children who represented us at football last Tuesday. Despite losing their three games, the children all played in the spirit of the game and showed great determination throughout especially in playing attractive football. Mr Perry was very proud of every pupil as they represented the school in a fantastic way. We wish our Year 1 and 2 footballers lots of luck in their competition on Friday!
FASA
FASA are seeking two parent representatives for each class in school to help pass on messages about events and support the great work FASA do for our school. Please contact the school office or the Chair of FASA, Deborah Varley (07940914639/01270 811402) if you feel you can help with this role.
You will have received your child's Christmas card designs this week. Please ensure any orders for cards are returned to school by Friday 28th October so they can be ordered in time for Christmas.

ABC Childcare
The children at ABC are busy learning about all things Autumnal – their story of the week this week is Sam the Nut. The team at ABC are now planning after school activities for next half term. If your children have any ideas of clubs they would like to attend at ABC, please let the staff know. The children's favourite after school activities recently have been Science and Crime busters clubs.
A reminder that if you require holiday club cover, breakfast club and after school club care, please feel free to visit ABC to speak to a member of staff or get in touch on 01270 748081. The team are always happy to help.
Parent View
Many of you will be aware of the online questionnaire called Parent View, which parents and carers can use to give their views about school at any time of the school year. To register and complete the short questionnaire at http://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk you simply need to register your email address and create a password.
Once your login has been activated, it takes a few minutes to choose answers to 12 short questions about the school, such as the quality of teaching and whether you would recommend the school to other parents.
Inspectors will consider parents' views alongside other evidence when making a judgement about a school. It is also useful for us because it gives valuable information about what you think of the school and helps us to improve.
Please remember, you can give your opinion of school through Parent View at any time during the school year. At the time of an inspection, you can refresh or resubmit your views and the facility will overwrite your previous response so that only one 'view' for each parent, per school, is held.
New School Menu
The new menu for school dinners will commence from 14th November. The menu will be put onto our school website as soon as it is finalised by Cheshire East Catering. Menu options can be found in
the General Information section of the website, under the School Dinners heading – please check this before deciding which meal you would like your child to have each day.
Congratulations!
Congratulations to Mrs Richardson who has successfully completed the National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordinator in her role as SENCO at our school. This is a wonderful achievement and very well deserved!
Polite reminders
I would like to remind all parents and carers that it is our policy to ask that all children are absent from school for 48 hours from their last episode of diarrhea or vomiting. This is to prevent other children and staff becoming ill. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
Doors open from 8.45am for children to come into school each morning, if your child arrives later than 9.00am they will need to be brought into school through the main entrance to ensure they are registered. It is important that children are escorted to the office entrance as the car park can be very busy at the start of the school day. In the interests of safety, please do not park your car in the school car park at the beginning or end of the school day. Thank you.
Finally
Please contact your child's class teacher if you have not made an appointment for Parent Teacher Meetings yet. I hope many of you are able to take this opportunity to meet with class teachers.
