The closure of Lincoln House as a respite and rehabilitation resource was postponed last year until at least the end of 2015 following pressure from ADCA and others. Then on June 30th, Cheshire East published a proposal to close Lincoln House at the end of 2015 and obtain respite care from the private sector. This has caused considerable dismay among those most affected, and this "call-in" of the decision is the result.

The agenda for Health and Adult Social Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee, Friday, 7th August, 2015, 2.00 pm has just been published and item 6 on the agenda is

  • an update of the Call -in of Cabinet Decision of 30 June – Moving to Local and Personalised Carer Respite

This decision included the closure of Lincoln House as a provider of respite care, and to rely instead on provision from the private sector.

This "call-in" which forces the Council to reconsider its decision was instigated by Councillors D Flude; S Brookfield, S Hogben, L Jeuda, D Bailey and S Corcoran.
