Jimmy Stretch Flies High with Rescheduled A P Gough Trophy Victory

Audlem and District Bowling Club held the penultimate internal club competition of the season today, as 18 entrants took to the green in glorious sunshine to contest the A P Gough Trophy.

The tournament was originally scheduled for July 12th, but extreme hot weather forced a postponement for player safety. Rescheduled for today, the competition went ahead seamlessly, delivering fantastic bowling throughout the day.

The knockout rounds culminated in a competitive final between Jimmy Stretch and Ian Forster, with Jimmy putting on a commanding performance to secure a 21 13 victory and take home the silverware.

The win caps off a stellar season for Jimmy. As captain of Audlem s 'A' teams in both the Whitchurch and Market Drayton leagues, his remarkable consistency sees him flying high near the very top of the individual league averages, proving once again that the cream always rises to the top.

Congratulations to Jimmy on a well-deserved triumph, and to Ian for an impressive run to the final.
