These are excerpts from the latest Audlem St James' School Newsletter published by the school on Friday.

We delayed publication by a couple of days because AudlemOnline was focusing on the school's Ofsted report. As a result, some small changes to tenses etc have been made to the original copy.

Welcome Back!

The publication of our OFSTED report was a great way to start our new term together. Many thanks to all of the parents who have contacted us to congratulate school on the outcome.

Our tremendous progress over the last 18 months has been testament to the great teamwork of staff, Governors, parents and children and I am sure we are all rightly proud of the wonderful school we now have.

Sports

Congratulations to Edward Lawrence, Ben Jones, Lilia Crowley, Rebecca Marshall, Elsie May Cottrell, Esther Wilding, Lizzie Edwards, Cooper Bonnell, Ciara Lloyd Beeston, Milla Maleci, Annie Lowe, Pip Bonnell, Maddison Matravers and Riley Capewell who have all achieved their 10k certificates for Active Audlem. What a fantastic achievement!

Good luck to both our Football and High 5 teams who are in action again this week. Our footballers took on Weston on Monday in a home fixture and our High 5 team will be representing school in the Crewe and Nantwich Finals on Tuesday. I will update you next week with the results.

FASA

FASA's Easter fundraising event was a great success raising £435 for school. Thank you to all of the FASA team, staff, parents, relatives and children who supported this. A special thanks to the Y5/6 helpers who helped to run stalls.

Don't forget, FASA will also be holding a 'Black and White Glamour Night' at Audlem Public Hall on Friday 9th May from 7.30pm – 12pm. Tickets are available from the FASA team or our School Office.

FASA's AGM meeting will be held in school on 20th May at 2pm, please do attend if you can.

ABC Childcare

Messy Mondays for 0-4 year olds started again on Monday 28th April. They run from 9.30 – 11.30am and cost £4.00 a session. Sessions include activities led by ABC's Early Years Teacher Kirsty Bailey.

Don't forget ABC now offer pre-school sessions for 2 year olds with FREE places available. Contact Family Information Services on 0300 123 5033 to see if your child is eligible for up to 15 hours Free childcare during term time.

There are places still available at their breakfast and afterschool club for children of Audlem St James'. Call 01270 669050 for more information.

Goodbye and Good Luck

We say a sad farewell to Mrs Southall Martin today as she leaves to take on a new role. She has worked at school for nine years and in that time she has done a tremendous amount to support school. She will be sadly missed by all of the school team and we wish her lots of luck in her new role.

Share Plus Group

The 'Share Plus' parenting programme is due to run at Nantwich and Rural Children's Centre later this term. The course will run from Monday 2nd June 2014 to Monday 7th July 2014 inclusive from 1pm until 2.30pm.

Parents want the best for their children, but sometimes may find being a parent difficult. This group gives parents the opportunity to talk to other parents within the group which can help the job of being a parent easier.

Please call Nantwich and Rural Children's Centre for more information or to book a space
on 01270 375390.

Finally

Children will have brought home a class information letter this week outlining aspects of
their class work during this term. All of our classes are beginning new, exciting projects and
we have much to look forward to this term! Thank you for your continued support with this.
