Mrs Margaret Smith

Mrs Margaret Smith of Audlem Post Office died during the night. Her son Andrew closed the Post Office this morning but he and Lynne have re-opened this afternoon and apologised for the inconvenience to customers this morning. We are sure that everyone will understand and sympathise.

Mrs Smith has been one of the best known and liked residents of the village and has run or worked in Audlem Post Office for over fifty years with first her late husband and then her son Andrew. She was still working behind the counter as recently as last week. Our condolences to Andrew and Lynne and to Jonty Smith, who lives in Australia.
