ADAPT Market and Apple Pressing

Audlem Community Apple Pressing
ADAPT Audlem 's environmental and sustainability group, will be holding their 2026 Community Apple Pressing Event this Saturday. October 17th 10am to 2pm
It 's held on Audlem lets hope its vacant Lord Combermere Carpark, There might be room for to bring car loads or bucket- fulls of fruit along.
Calling everyone that has access to ripe apples and pears or even grapes,--
Just bring your washed fruit and plenty of containers, and get them made into juice free of charge.
It's fun for accompanied children and adults alike who will be encouraged to help.
Pressing can be messy, so old clothes recommended.
You have many options for your juice. :
- Making fresh apple juice to drink within a week,
- Cider will take a little longer,
- Cider vinegar, - just leave the juice with a muslin cloth over for a couple of weeks
- Freeze the juice,
- Use it in recipes,
- Pasteurise it for keeping up to 3years.
Don't allow your fruit to go to waste, bring it along.
We have a few demijohns for sale if needed.
All the pressing residue will go to feed the pigs at Fordhall Farm unless you want to keep it for your own use. We don t like anything going to waste.!!
We will also be having our last market of the season this Saturday, with the usual local offerings, all locally grown and produced, by ADAPT members and friends. Thank you for supporting us throughout the Spring and Summer months, we will be back next year. This Saturday we shall have cakes, jams, jellies and chutneys. Free range eggs, apple juice, beeswax candles and cosmetics, maybe a few last beans, and plenty of Jerusalem Artichokes and recipes, if you don't know what to do with them.
