More mail scams

Maybe the news of the Audlem mail problems has reached the con-merchants of Africa?

In the last two days, I've received emails claiming to come from DHL and Fedex.
In both cases the message says they were unable to deliver a package, and that I should open the attachment which will give me the info for arranging re-delivery.

As I wasn't expecting anything from them, I was immediately suspicious, and certainly wasn't going to open the attachment.

Sure enough, and quick Google search revealed they are known scams, probably originating in Nigeria, with the attachment containing a "nasty" that will allow them access to your computer.

Any reputable carrier/supplier would never require you to open an attachment to get at important info, so however legitimate the email might appear, don't be tempted to open it.

Although it may not do much good, both DHL and Fedex websites do give email addresses for reporting such abuse.
