Meeting with Highways

On Friday 18th March, Parish Councillors and Mr Peter Oxley met with Mr Chris Shields, Service Leader of Cheshire East Highways, to discuss the roads around Audlem.

It was a constructive meeting, with Mr Shields listening to the concerns raised by Cllr Siddorns, Thompson and Christie as well as those of Mr Oxley who had brought photographs of areas of concern within the parish and also further north on the A529. 

Mr Shields explained how the Highways department is funded and the mechanisms in place for the planning of road maintenance throughout the entire borough, in addition to answering more technical questions about road repair systems.

It was clear that the issues of concern locally are prevalent throughout the borough and further afield as well.

The full content of the meeting is to be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting in order to potentially formulate a constructive path forward working with Cheshire East Highways to attempt to resolve many of the raised issues and problems.
